Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil (for cooking)

Burger buns

Lettuce leaves (for garnish)

Tomato slices (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Start by washing and chopping the fresh spinach, shredding the white cheddar cheese, and finely chopping the onion and garlic.

Combine the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Mix Well: Use your hands or a mixing spoon to thoroughly combine all ingredients until just mixed. Be careful not to overwork the mixture to keep the burgers tender.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1-inch thick.

Cook the Patties: Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the patties. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and they are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: If desired, toast the burger buns in the same skillet for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

Assemble the Burgers: Place the cooked chicken patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with fresh lettuce, a slice of tomato, and the top half of the bun.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the burgers warm with your choice of sides such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
