Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1 egg, beaten

Olive oil, for cooking

Burger buns, for serving

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, or aioli

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix everything together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix; just until the ingredients are incorporated.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each portion into a burger patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little olive oil to prevent sticking.

Once the oil is hot, add the chicken patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

In the last minute of cooking, you can place a slice of additional white cheddar on top of each burger to melt (optional).

Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes while you toast the burger buns in the same skillet until golden brown.

Assemble your burgers by placing a chicken patty on the bottom half of the bun and adding any of your desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, avocado, or aioli. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve immediately and enjoy your White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers!
