Ingredients

1 (12-pack) Sweet Hawaiian Rolls

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained

1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting

Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Cut the Sweet Hawaiian Rolls into quarters and place them evenly in the greased baking dish, sprinkling the crushed pineapple and shredded coconut evenly on top of the rolls.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the rolls, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down the rolls to submerge them fully in the mixture.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and let the mixture soak for about 30 minutes. For best results, refrigerate for up to 2 hours or overnight.

Bake the dish covered for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and puffed.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.

Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup.
