Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 medium onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

3 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers, stir-frying for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan, stirring for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Return the cooked steak to the pan and mix in the oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously to coat everything evenly.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
