Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Oil for frying (like vegetable or canola)

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken: In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Coat the Chicken: Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten eggs, letting the excess drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Set aside.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat about 1 inch of oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Fry the Chicken: Carefully add the chicken pieces in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes per batch or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Glaze the Chicken: Once the sauce thickens slightly, pour it over the crispy chicken, stirring to coat evenly.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the chicken to a serving plate, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if using. Serve with rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
