Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice for serving

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for 15-30 minutes.

While the meat is marinating, bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until bright green and still crisp. Drain and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

Return the beef to the skillet and add the blanched broccoli. Pour in the beef broth, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar, stirring well to combine.

Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serve hot over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
