Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cooked white rice, for serving

Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Blanch the Broccoli: While the beet is marinating, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, followed by minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Return the beef to the skillet. Add the blanched broccoli, beef broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Stir all ingredients together to coat them in the sauce, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.

Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of cooked white rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for an extra flair.
