Ingredients

2 ripe bananas (mashed)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

1 cup brown sugar (packed)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter, stirring until well mixed.

Add the brown sugar to the banana mixture, mixing thoroughly before incorporating the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, and cinnamon until fully combined.

Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana and butter mixture, folding gently to combine without over-mixing.

If using, fold in the chocolate chips for an extra indulgent touch.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
